Submitting Your Power of Attorney Request to the Ethiopian Embassy
Follow these steps to submit your power of attorney request online.
Complete the Online Application Form
filling out the document authentication application form with accurate information and uploading all required documents as instructed.
Prepare the Required Documents.
Applicants requesting services related to property must submit a valid passport copy and a copy of their Ethiopian Origin ID. For other types of Power of Attorney, a valid Passport, U.S. Green Card, or U.S. Driver’s License may be submitted as identification.
Preparing the Power of Attorney.
The Power of Attorney (POA) is specified on the application form. The applicant selects the appropriate type of POA from the provided list. If the desired power is not listed, the applicant may scroll down and add it under the "Merging Power" section.
Payment (Money Order Only)
Applicants with an Ethiopian Passport or Ethiopian Origin ID Card must submit a $62 money order, while all other applicants must submit a $95 money order. The payment must be made payable to the Ethiopian Embassy. Cash, debit cards, credit cards, and personal checks are not accepted.
Signing the Power of Attorney
On the day of the appointment, the applicant must bring the valid ID that is attached to the application form and sign the Power of Attorney (POA) digitally in the presence of the officer. A money order must also be brought at the time of the appointment.
Important Notes
If any identification document is missing or not properly attached, the Embassy will reject your request and notify you by email. Therefore, ensure that all required documents are complete and correctly submitted to avoid delays or rejection.
